Kanyuk Makes Career-High 26 Saves Versus Wilkes

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College senior goalie Megan Kanyuk posted a career-high 26 saves in the Greyhounds' 2-1 non-conference loss to Wilkes University Monday evening on John Makuvek Field.

Kanyuk is fourth in school history with 353 career saves, and she has an .850 save percentage this fall. Senior defender Shauna Poling and freshman defender Lindsay Wenzel each had a defensive save; the third of the season for both players with Poling picking up the 15th defensive save of her career.

"Megan had a great game tonight, and really kept us in the match,' stated Head Coach Amy Endler. "It was nice to get on the scoreboard with our first goal on Makuvek Field. Megan stepped up for us, we just have to keep at it."

The Greyhounds goal would come in the 33rd minute after the Colonels had scored twice in an eight-minute span. Senior forward Erin Tiwold got in on a breakaway and made a move to the right of the Wilkes goalie before finding an empty net to shoot in for her first goal of the season and the 16th of her career.

Moravian is scheduled to return to Saturday, September 17 when the squad hosts FDU-Florham in a non-conference match beginning at 1:00 p.m. at John Makuvek Field. The Hounds will host their annual Alumni Game prior to the contest.
