Moravian Drops Non-Conference Match to King's

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey team dropped a 3-0 non-conference decision to King's College at John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening.

Senior goalie Megan Kanyuk made 20 saves in the contest for the Blue and Grey, raising her career total to 394, just six shy of moving into third in school history.

The Greyhounds controlled the action early with senior forward Erin Tiwold getting off a shot in the first minute of action that was wide of the cage and a second shot just over three minutes into action that was stop by the Monarchs' keeper. The Hounds had a pair of penalty corners in the next minute but were unable to get a shot off. Moravian had another opportunity late in the match after another penalty corner but senior forward Kyla Rodrigues had her shot knocked away from the goal.

Moravian is scheduled to open its 2016 Landmark Conference season on Saturday, September 24 in a match at The University of Scranton beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Scranton.
