Field Hockey Falls to Albright as Greyhounds Host Green Out

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey team dropped a 5-0 non-conference match to visiting Albright College on John Makuvek Field Wednesday evening.

The Greyhounds hosted a Green Out for the game as they helped raise awareness for Leukemia and Lymphoma. The Blue and Grey wore green t-shirts for their pre-match warm-up, and they wore green bracelets during the contest. Moravian shared the bracelets with Albright to wear as well, and the Lions also had green shoelaces for the match.

Senior goalie Megan Kanyuk made nine saves for the Hounds as she increased her career total to 414 saves while playing 61 minutes versus the Lions. Freshman keeper Taya Edwards-Wentz stopped a pair of shots in her first action in the cage this season.

Senior forward Erin Tiwold nearly got Moravian on the scoreboard in the 51st minute as she broke in on goal after a long lead pass but she was unable to get her shot past Albright's keeper.

Moravian is scheduled to return to Landmark Conference action on Saturday, October 1 in a home match versus Drew University beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Rocco Calvo Field.
