Moravian Field Hockey to Begin Gillis Era on September 2 on John Makuvek Field

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey team is scheduled to begin the 2017 season and the tenure of new Head Coach Kristen Gillis with a home match versus DeSales University on Saturday, September 2 at 1:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.

Gillis will lead the Greyhounds in seven straight non-conference matches to open the year, and Moravian is scheduled to play in eight night contests this fall. The squad's first road trip is slated for Wednesday, September 6 with a trip to FDU-Florham before the squad returns home to host William Paterson University on September 9. The Greyhounds are then scheduled for a stretch of four matches in six days that includes at Delaware Valley University on September 14, home with Sweet Briar (Va.) College on September 15, at Cedar Crest College on September 17 and at Wilkes University on September 19.

Moravian opens its 2017 Landmark Conference season on Saturday, September 23 at 1:00 p.m. on John Maukvek Field. After hosting Bryn Mawr College on September 26, the Hounds finish out the first month of the season at Drew University on September 30.

The Greyhounds have four home matches and four away contests scheduled for October with a three-game trip to King's College on October 2, Widener University on October 4 and Goucher College on October 7 to begin the month. Moravian will then host Elizabethtown College on October 11, The Catholic University of America on October 14 and rival Muhlenberg College on October 18. The Hounds will close out the season with a road trip to Juniata College on October 21 before hosting Susquehanna University in the season finale on October 28.

The 2017 Landmark Conference Tournament is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, November 1.
