EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. --- Junior midfielder/forward Elizabeth Hrehovcik netted her first career hat trick but it wasn't enough as the Moravian College field hockey team dropped a 4-3 non-conference match at Wilkes University Tuesday evening.

The Hounds took a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute when Hrehovcik knocked a crossing pass from freshman midfielder Mae Dienes into the cage. The Colonels netted goals in the 15th and 18th minutes to move ahead 2-1 before Hrehovcik found the back of the net again on an unassisted goal in the 20th minute. Wilkes would get one more goal to head to the intermission with a 3-2 lead.

Hrehovcik completed her first career hat trick with her fifth goal of the season in the 44th minute as she one-timed a pass from freshman midfielder Erica Heaney. Wilkes retook the lead, 4-3, in the 60th minute.

Freshman goalie Ashley Kunsman made 14 saves for the Greyhounds in the cage.

Moravian will return to action on Saturday, September 23 when the squad starts its 2017 Landmark Conference season by hosting The University of Scranton at 1:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
