BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College freshman forward Kendal Wilkes scored her first two collegiate goals to help the Greyhounds to a 3-0 victory over Cedar Crest College in non-conference action on John Makuvek Field Monday evening.

Today all the pieces fell into place," noted Head Coach Kristen Gillis. "We played as a team and all the things we've been working on finally shined through. It was great seeing so many players involved in the offense and finding the back of the cage was exactly what the team needed after all their hard work."

Wilkes would give the Hounds a 1-0 lead just 7:32 into the contest when she blasted a shot in from the left side off of a pass by sophomore defender Talea Gordon on a penalty corner, one of nine corners by Moravian in the contest. Wilkes' first career goal would be the only tally of the first half as the Blue and Grey headed to the intermission with a 1-0 advantage. Moravian also had a 12-3 edge in shots and a 7-2 margin in penalty corners in the opening 35 minutes of play.

The Greyhounds extended their edge to 2-0 just over seven minutes into the second half when sophomore midfielder Mae Dienes dribbled the ball down the right side and blasted a shot that trickled through the goalies' pads for Dienes' first tally of the season and second of her career. Wilkes finished off the scoring when she knocked in a rebound in the 63rd minute.

Moravian sophomore goalie Ashley Kunsman had three saves, all in the second half and two just before the final goal by Wilkes. The shutout was the first of the season for Kunsman and the third of her career. The Hounds had a 25-10 advantage in shots in the match and a 9-8 edge in penalty corners.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, September 12 when they host Delaware Valley University in a non-conference match beginning at 5:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
