Field Hockey Falls to Juniata in 2018 Landmark Conference Opener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey team fell to visiting Juniata College, 4-0, in the 2018 Landmark Conference opener for both schools on John Makuvek Field Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles scored in the third minute for a 1-0 lead. Juniata had an opportunity to extend the lead with a penalty stroke in the 16th minute but Moravian sophomore goalie Ashley Kunsman saved the shot, one of 12 saves she recorded in the match.

Juniata would score three times in the second half while Moravian freshman forward Ava Edwards had the Greyhounds' best chance to score with a shot on goal in the 67th minute.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Wednesday, September 26 in a non-conference match at Bryn Mawr College beginning at 4:30 p.m.
