BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University field hockey squad snapped a scoreless tie just 22 second into the fourth quarter to earn a 1-0 non-conference victory over visiting King' College under the lights of John Makuvek Field Tuesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The squads played through three scoreless quarters to start the match
  • The Greyhounds broke onto the scoreboard just 22 seconds into the fourth quarter when junior forward Bekkah Kehoe took a lead pass from senior midfielder Emily Wells and put it in the cage
  • The Monarchs nearly tied the contest with just over six minutes remaining when King's was awarded a penalty stroke; however, the shot sailed high
  • King's would get a pair of penalty corners and three shots in the final 1:28, but the Moravian defense stood tall to preserve the shutout

Inside the Numbers

  • Kehoe's goal was her second of the season and sixth of her career while Wells picked up her third assist of the fall and 16th of her career as a Greyhound to move into sole possession of fifth place in the program record book
  • Senior goalie Brooke Wilkinson recorded four saves for her third shutout of 2022 and her eighth career shutout
  • Junior defender Onalee Long made a defensive save in the Monarchs' flurry of shots in the final minute. It is her second defensive save of the year and sixth of her career
