TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Tyler Smith has been selected as the inaugural Landmark Conference Men's Golf Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
Smith, who is the first Landmark Athlete of the Week winner with the conference beginning to sponsor the sport in 2017-18, placed second of the 82 golfers in the season-opening Swarthmore College-Neumann University Invitational with a one-over par round of 72 on the Rock Manor Golf Club course. Smith's round included five birdies and nine pars and helped the Greyhounds finish as the runner-up in the 16-team field.
"This was Tyler's first competitive round of golf since our spring championship due to his injury so was nice to see him come out and have a solid round," commented Head Coach Kevin Edwards.
Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, September 19 at the Elizabethtown College Blue Jay Fall Invitational that will be played will at the Hershey Country Club East Course.
