Greyhounds Tie for 8th at Elizabethtown Invitational

HERSHEY, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team tied for eighth of 28 teams at the Elizabethtown College Fall Invitational played on the East Course at the Hershey Country Club Tuesday.

The Greyhounds had a team score of 317 to tie Eastern University while Stevenson University and Muhlenberg College each finished at 302 with Stevenson winning the tournament on a lower card by the fifth player of each squad.

Junior Kody Long led Moravian with a three-over par round of 74 to tie for seventh of the 135 golfers in the tournament. Long's round included two birdies and nine pars. Senior Tyler Smith was tied for 34th with a round of 79, which included 10 pars, while sophomore Nick Kuhn was tied for 41st with an 80 that included a birdie and nine pars. Junior Joe Rochelle carded an 84 with nine pars to finish in a tie for 75th while freshman Thomas Lakata was one stoke back with an 85 that included a birdie and six pars to tie for 80th place.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Monday, September 25 when the squad travels to the Lebanon Valley College Invitational at the Lebanon Country Club beginning at 12:00 p.m.
