MOOSIC, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's golf team finished first of six schools at the Landmark Conference Fall Invitational hosted by The University of Scranton at the Glenmaura National Golf Course Saturday.

The Greyhounds had a team score of 319, finishing seven strokes ahead of the host Royals. Goucher College was third with a 346 on the course that will be used in May 2018 for the inaugural Landmark Conference Championship Tournament.

Senior Kevin Kunkle earned medalist honors among the 29 golfers with a four over par round of 75. Senior Tyler Smith finished third with a round of 77 while junior Joe Rochelle was tied for fifth with an 82. Junior Kody Long finished in a tie for ninth for the Greyhounds as he carded an 85 while sophomore Nick Kuhn rounded out the squad with an 87 to finish in 14th place.

"The guys hung in there today," commented Head Coach Kevin Edwards. "Conditions were not the best but both Kevin and Tyler played solid rounds especially on the back nine. Kevin shot a really solid round of 35 on the back with back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17 to be the medalist. It is a nice way to start off in the Landmark Conference. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going the rest of the fall."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Monday, October 2 in the Muhlenberg College Invitational at the Lehigh Country Club with tee-off set for 12:30 p.m.
