Greyhounds Finish Fall with 12th Place at Franklin & Marshall Invitational

LITITZ, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's golf team completed the fall portion of its 2017-18 season by finishing 12th of 15 teams at the Franklin & Marshall College Invitational played at the Bent Creek Country Club Monday.

The Greyhounds had a team score of 335 while the host Diplomats won the team title with a 301, breaking a tie with Rutgers-Camden on a comparison of scores by the fifth player on each squad.

Freshman Victor Tavares led the Hounds with a five-over-par round of 76, which included a pair of birdies and ten pars, to finish in a tie for ninth among the 72 golfers in the field. Senior Tyler Smith was tied for 19th with a 79 that included a birdie and 10 pars in his final round of the fall while junior Kody Long carded an 89 with one birdie and six pars. Junior Joe Rochelle had two birdies and five pars while carding a 91 for Moravian while sophomore Nick Kuhn turned in a round of 92 with five pars to finish off the Greyhounds' lineup.

Moravian will return for the spring portion of the season in late March as the squad prepares for the first-ever in Landmark Conference hosted by the University of Scranton at the Glenmaura National Golf Course on May 5-6.
