Greyhounds Finish 10th in Season-Opening Montgomery Cup

SHAWNEE-ON-THE-DELAWARE, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team finished 10th of 12 teams in the 36-hole Montgomery Cup hosted by Rosemont College at the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort this weekend.

The Greyhounds had a team score of 319 Sunday to finish with a two-day total of 636.

Junior Nick Kuhn led Moravian individually as he tied for 20th of the 64 golfers with a 36-hole total of 148. Kuhn's one-over par round of 73 on Sunday included three birdies and 11 pars. Sophomore Victor Tavares was tied for 34th with a 153 including a second round of 77 with one birdie and 11 pars while senior Kody Long was tied for 50th with a 163 after a round of 82 on Sunday that included one birdie and 10 pars. Senior Joe Rochelle had a two-day total of 172 with an 87 on Sunday that included one birdie and five pars while sophomore Thomas Lakata had a 36-hole score of 174 after a second round 89 which included two birdies and two pars.

The Hounds are scheduled to return to action on Monday, September 24 when the squad hosts the Moravian Weyhill Invitational at the Saucon Valley Country Club beginning at 1:00 p.m.
