Hounds Place Sixth in Moravian Weyhill Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College golf team finished sixth of eight teams in the 2018 Moravian Weyhill Classic Monday afternoon played on the Weyhill Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.

The Greyhounds registered a four-man team score of 332 while McDaniel College won the tournament with a 302.

Sophomore Victor Tavares led the Hounds as he tied for eighth place of the 44 golfers with a five-over par round of 77 that saw him card 13 pars on the windy afternoon. Junior Nick Kuhn finished in a tie for 19th with an 82 which included two birdies and eight pars while senior Kody Long was tied for 27th with a score of 85 including a birdie and 10 pars. Rounding out the scoring team were senior Joe Rochelle in a tie for 32nd with an 88 and sophomore Kody Kolnik in a tie for 40th with a 97. Moravian also had two individuals play in the tournament with sophomore Thomas Lakata finishing in 26th place with a round of 84 while freshman Will Breslin was tied for 38th with a 93 in his first collegiate action.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Monday, October 1 when the squad competes in the Muhlenberg College Fall Invitational at the Lehigh Country Club with action beginning at 12:30 p.m.
