Men's Basketball Drops Landmark Conference Game at Catholic

Washington, D.C.--- The Moravian College men's basketball team traveled to The Catholic University of America Saturday night, falling 83-63 in Landmark Conference action.

Sophomore forward Brandon McGuire led the Greyhounds with 17 points and four rebounds while junior guard Jarrod Dilts scored 14 points and added eight rebounds one assist and one steal. Senior guard Izel Dickerson tossed in seven points to go with two rebounds. Senior forward Garrett Kashmer scored five points while junior forward Ryan O'Neil had four points and three rebounds and sophomore guard Tom Cicalese also scored four points.

Freshman guard Matt Cardonne and sophomore guard Sean Hanna both had three points while Hanna added two rebounds. Sophomores guard Isaiah Jennings and forward Aaron Brown hit a basket apiece while Brown collected two rebounds. Freshman guard Khalil Rhett also sank a basket on the night for the Greyhounds.

Dilts would score the first points of the game giving the Hounds the lead. Later, McGuire would convert a three point play on a made layup and free throw. With three made layups, two by McGuire and one by Dilts the Blue and Grey would be down by three. McGuire netted 13 points in the first half and four rebounds while Dilts scored eight points as Moravian still trailed the Cardinals 47-30 as they went into intermission.

Despite Dickerson scoring five of his seven points in the second half and Kashmer connecting on a three-pointer and a jumper for five points as well, the Cardinals extended their lead in the second half that even the 33 points the Greyhounds scored wouldn't be enough in the second half as they never fully recovered.

The Greyhounds return to action Saturday, December 13 in a non-conference game as they travel to Haverford College for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off. Moravian doesn't return home until Saturday, January 3, 2015 when they resume conference play against Susquehanna University.
