Justin Potts, a 2000 Moravian graduate, enters his fourth season in 2018-19 after leading the Greyhounds to the school’s first Landmark Championship in school history during the 2017-18 season with a 81-78 victory over Juniata. The Greyhounds set a school record for wins with 20 and qualified for the NCAA Division III tournament for the third time in program history. They finished the season 20-8 and set numerous program records along the way.

The 2016-17 Greyhounds tied a record for wins with 19 and won the first playoff game in 27 years. The Greyhounds played for the Landmark Championship for the first time in school history and qualified for the ECAC Division III Tournament. Potts and his staff were selected as The Landmark Coaching Staff of the Year. This season was preceded by one of the largest turnarounds in the country in his first year as the team posted an 11-14 mark, a six-game improvement from the previous season.

In his first three seasons, the Greyhounds have used a running pressing style to lead the Landmark in several statistical categories. The Greyhounds have led the conference in scoring and threes made while also being in the top third of the conference in assists per game. Defensively, Moravian has led the league three straight years in steals and in turnovers forced. 

Guard Jimmy Murray and forward O’neil Holder were selected to the Landmark All-Conference First Team during the 2017-18 season with Murray being selected to The D3 Hoops All Region Team as well. The previous year, Brandon McGuire was selected to the Landmark All-Conference First team which was preceded by the Second Team honor during the 15-16 season. The 15-16 season also had Holder recognized as the Rookie of the Year in the conference. 

Potts played for the Greyhounds from 1997 through 2000 before moving a few seats up the bench to serve as an assistant for Jim Walker, who retired after 35 seasons and 441 wins in Bethlehem. Potts was on Walker's staff for two seasons before heading to East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania to start the 2002-03 season as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for head coach Jeff Wilson. 

Potts was the top assistant coach at ESU for 13 years and was promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2010. In his final six years on the staff, Potts helped guide the Warriors to four NCAA Tournament appearances, four PSAC East regular season titles and two PSAC tournament championships. 

Potts helped lead the Warriors to historic heights during the 2013-14 season, with a record of 30-2, their second PSAC championship in three years and a spot in the Atlantic Region final (Sweet 16). The Warriors were ranked No. 2 in the final NABC DII poll of the regular season and led DII in turnover margin. 

During the 2009-10 season, Potts coached a total of 55 games while serving as the Interim Head Women's Basketball Coach at ESU in addition to his role as assistant men's coach. He was the recipient of the Winning Warrior Award for outstanding contributions to the ESU Athletic Department in 2010 after coaching both teams. 

Off the court, Potts received his Bachelors of Arts in English from Moravian in 2000, and he completed a Master's of Science in Exercise Science at East Stroudsburg in 2007.

Potts resides in Bethlehem with his wife Caroline, and their daughters Quinn (6) and Kennedy (4).
