Hounds Fall at Alfred in 2018 Season Opener

ALFRED, N.Y. --- The Moravian College men's lacrosse team opened its 2018 season at Alfred (N.Y.) University Saturday, falling 10-4, in non-conference action.

Sophomore attack Cade Siddron led the Greyhounds with a pair of goals while freshman attack Connor Hull added a goal and an assist and junior attack Mark Laratta netted one goal and contributed three ground balls.

Freshman goalie Will Dadouris made 15 saves and added two ground balls in his first career start while junior midfielder Hayden DuPont had three ground balls. Sophomore midfielder Kevin Darling and freshman long stick midfielder Tanner Leslie each caused a pair of turnovers while freshman goalie/defender Andrew Sonntag scooped three ground balls.

Alfred scored three goals in the first quarter and two in the second to lead 5-0 at the intermission. The Saxons added the first goal of the third quarter before Moravian scored three straight tallies to cut the deficit to 6-3 at the end of 45 minutes of play.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, March 6 in a non-conference game versus Saint Joseph's (Maine) College in Orlando, Florida.
