Men's Lacrosse Drops Landmark Conference Contest at Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's lacrosse team fell to host The University of Scranton, 17-5, in Landmark Conference action Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore attack Cade Siddron led the Greyhounds with two goals while juniors Mark Laratta, James Carroll and Austin Adams each scored one goal. Junior Dominick Gurreri added one assist.

Junior goalie Kurt Dick made 14 saves and scooped up nine ground balls while junior midfielder Rick Guerra won seven face-offs and had three ground balls. Junior defenders Brian Biase and John Polich each had three caused turnovers while sophomore long stick midfielder Jimmy Schicke added five ground balls.

Scranton scored the opening two goals of the match before tallies from Laratta and Siddron knotted the score at 2-2 with 6:48 left in the first quarter. The Royals added three more goals to lead 5-2 after 15 minutes of action. The Hounds were limited to one goal in each of the final three quarters, trailing 8-3 at halftime and 12-4 after 45 minutes of action.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, April 14 when the squad hosts Drew University in a Landmark Conference contest starting at 1:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field in Bethlehem.
