Greyhounds Drop 2018 Season Finale at Goucher

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College men's lacrosse team dropped a 13-6 decision in Landmark Conference action at Goucher College Saturday afternoon to close out the 2018 regular season.

The Greyhounds finish the year at 7-7, and had four players score in the match. Junior attack James Carroll netted two goals to become the first player in school history to score 100 career goals while sophomore attack Cade Siddron had two goals and an assist. Junior attack Mark Laratta scored one goal and added two assists while junior midfielder Dominick Gurreri had a goal and junior midfielder Alec Oriolo added an assist.

Junior goalie Kurt Dick made 12 saves to go with a pair of ground balls while sophomore long stick midfielder Jimmy Schicke contributed four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Laratta also had four ground balls and three caused turnovers while junior defender John Polich had four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. Sophomore midfielder Peter Degnan also scooped up four ground balls while junior midfielder Rick Guerra was 6-for-23 on face-offs. Siddron contributed two ground balls while junior midfielder Hayden DuPont had two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Siddron opened the scoring just 2:32 into the match but the Gophers responded with three goals to lead 3-1 after 15 minutes of action. Goucher scored the first six goals of the second quarter to extend the advantage to 9-1 before Carroll and Gurreri scored late in the period to cut the deficit to 10-3.

Carroll scored the only goal of the third quarter as he reached the 100-goal milestone. Goucher tallied the first three goals of the fourth quarter before late goals from Siddron and Laratta.
