BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College men's lacrosse senior attack Cade Siddron scored his 100th career goal but it wasn't enough as the Greyhounds dropped a 15-10 decision to visiting The University of Scranton in Landmark Conference action on John Makuvek Field Wednesday.
How It Happened
- The Royals scored the first six goals of the match before Siddron netted a man-up goal with 2:01 left in the first quarter as the Greyhounds trailed 6-1 after 15 minutes of action
- Siddron started the scoring in the second quarter before Scranton netted two tallies for an 8-2 edge. Siddron found the cage for the third time at the 8:01 mark for his milestone goal, and it started a run of three goals from Moravian with junior attack Connor James and sophomore midfielder Shane Cassel scoring to cut the deficit to 8-5. The Royals scored twice in the final 30 seconds of the half to head to the intermission with a 10-5 lead
- Scranton scored three of the four goals in the third quarter with Moravian's only tally coming on a man-up goal by James
- The Greyhounds scored four of the six goals in the final 15 minutes but were unable to get any closer than four goals
Inside the Numbers
- Siddron led Moravian with three goals with the final one making him the third player in program history to reach 100 career goals
- James and Cassel each netted two goals with Cassel finding the net for the first time in his career. Senior attack Connor Hull had a goal and an assist while senior defender Tanner Leslie and senior face-off specialist Max Towers each scored a goal. It marked the second career goal for Leslie while Towers, who won 4-of-9 face-offs, scored for the first time in his Moravian career. Freshman attack Trevor Dzama added an assist
- Sophomore goalie Sean DeMott registered 11 saves in just over 50 minutes of action while freshman Avery Napolitano made his collegiate debut with three saves in nine and a half minutes in goal
- Senior long stick midfielder Jimmy Schicke led the Hounds with five ground balls
