Ryan Nowell has returned to Moravian University as Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach after serving as a volunteer Assistant Coach at Lafayette College in 2023 with Lafayette’s face-off unit, defensive personnel, scout man up unit, as well as being the film coordinator and head of Lafayette’s Men’s Lacrosse Youth Camps/Events. While at Lafayette, the Leopards returned to the Patriot Playoffs for the first time since 2010. Nowell previously served as the Assistant Coach/Defensive Coordinator at Lake Erie College from 2020-2022. While at Lake Erie, he helped guide the Storm to the GMAC tournament semifinals both years, while coaching an All-North Region Defenseman, as well as mentoring multiple all-conference players.

Prior to that, Nowell was the head coach at Huntington (Ala.) College where he posted a record of 4-6 during the shortened 2020 season, and he has familiarity with the Lehigh Valley, serving as an assistant at Moravian from 2017-19. During his time at Moravian, Nowell served as defensive coordinator for Coach Carty, the 2019 Landmark Conference Coach of the Year. Nowell helped mentor three first-team all-conference selections and two second-team all-conference players. Nowell began his collegiate coaching career at Marywood during the 2017 season. During that season, the Pacers advanced to the Colonial States Athletic Conference championship game before falling to Cabrini University. Nowell helped develop two second-team all-conference performers and three honorable mention all-conference selections.

As a student-athlete, Nowell was a four-year starter at Marywood University as a long-stick middie where he earned a preseason All-American nod in 2015 after earning all-conference honors from 2012-15. He helped the Pacers earn conference runner-up finishes in back-to-back seasons. Nowell graduated from Marywood in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training before obtaining his Masters of Business Administration from Lake Erie College in 2022.
