Men's Soccer to Start 2014 Campaign on the Road

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer squad will spend most of the first month of the 2014 season on the road as the Greyhounds open the year with six of eight contests away from the Moravian campus including a pair of matches in upstate New York on August 29 and 30.

The Greyhounds are led by sixth-year Head Coach Todd Ervin and begin the season at Clarkson University on Friday, August 29 with a 2:00 p.m. match as part of the North Country Classic. The Hounds will make a short trip over to St. Lawrence University on Saturday, August 30 for a 1:00 p.m. match in the 2014 Lotto Classic.

Moravian returns to Pennsylvania to play at Cairn University on September 3 at 4:00 p.m. before the Greyhounds finally hit the HUB Quad field for their home opener versus Immaculata University on Saturday, September 6 at 1:00 p.m. The Hounds then hit the road again with a Matte Award match at rival Muhlenberg College on Wednesday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. and a trip to Wesley College in Delaware on Saturday, September 13 at 3:30 p.m.

The Greyhounds are slated to host Penn State-Berks on Wednesday, September 17 at 4:00 p.m., and then Moravian will open its 2014 Landmark Conference slate at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland on Saturday, September 20 at 1:00p.m.

Moravian returns to the HUB Quad for the first of two three-game homestands with matches versus Delaware Valley College on Wednesday, September 24 at 4:00 p.m., Landmark foe The Catholic University of America on Saturday, September 27 at :00 p.m. and Landmark newcomer Elizabethtown College on Saturday, October 4 also at 1:00 p.m. The Greyhounds and the Blue Jays have not played one another since 2010 and have not been conference opponents since 2006.

The Hounds will play a pair of Landmark road matches the following week with a trip to The United States Merchant Marine Academy on Wednesday, October 8 starting at 7:00 p.m. on Long Island, and a match at Juniata College on Saturday, October 11 at 1:00 p.m.

Moravian will close out its home season with the second three-match homestand beginning on Tuesday, October 14 when the Pennsylvania College of Technology comes to the HUB Quad for a 4:00 p.m. match. The Hounds then host Susquehanna University on Saturday, October 18 at 1:00 p.m. and The University of Scranton on Wednesday, October 22 at 4:00 p.m. in Landmark action.

The Greyhounds close out the 2014 regular season where they started it, on the road with two matches away from campus. Moravian's final non-conference match of the year is slated for Saturday, October 25 at Centenary College at 1:00 p.m., and the Hounds' season finale is at Drew University on Saturday, November 1 at 1:00 p.m.

The 2014 Landmark Conference Tournament will begin on Wednesday, November 5 with a pair of semifinal matches at the higher seeds, and the championship contest is scheduled for Saturday, November 8 with the conference champion earning an automatic berth to the 2014 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
