BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 non-conference decision at Muhlenberg College Wednesday evening as the two schools met in the first Matte Award contest of 2014-15.

The Mules would take a quick 1-0 lead in the fourth minute. The Hounds nearly answered less than a minute later when freshman midfielder Corey Klaskin put a shot on goal that had to be saved. Three minutes later, sophomore midfielder Saul Marcial found himself open on the right side of the 18-yard box as he drilled the ball towards the net; however, the shot sailed wide to the left.

Over the next nine minutes, Moravian junior goalie Brian Boland  made three saves and also had a shot bounce off the post as the Greyhounds kept the score 1-0. Boland would finish the contest with seven saves for the Hounds. Muhlenberg extended its lead to 2-0 in the 17th minute.

After the intermission, senior midfielder Chris Gomez  tried to cut the lead in half but his shot in the 50th minute was wide to the right. The Mules finishes off the scoring in the 69th minute. Moravian freshman midfielder Brett Lubben hit a corner kick in the 78th minute for the Greyhounds but the pass in from the corner did not connect on the set piece.

Moravian will be back in action on Saturday, September 13 when the squad travels to Wesley (Del.) College for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference match.
