Hounds Even Conference Record in 3-1 Win Over Susquehanna

Bethlehem, Pa.--- The Moravian College men's soccer celebrated Senior Day in fine fashion on Saturday on HUB Quad. Moravian defeated Landmark Conference foe Susquehanna University 3-1 making them 3-3 in the conference placing them in a three-way tie for fourth.

The Greyhounds took the lead a 1-0 in the 26th minute when senior forward Shane McCaslin beat a defender down the line putting a cross inside the box where junior forward Zachary Klein was waiting to head the ball into the upper left corner of the goal for his first marker of the year.

Hounds on the attack again, this time freshman defender Corey Klaskin would make the run down the side of the field, placing the ball into sophomore defender Ian Larimer. Larimer would receive the cross inside the six-yard box and place the ball in the lower left corner of the goal in the 35th minute. Moravian would keep a 2-0 lead on the Crusaders into halftime.

The Blue and Grey would tack on the third goal of the match in the 59th minute by senior midfielder Chris Gomez. Gomez received the ball inside the 18-yard box from sophomore midfielder Saul Marcial, he then fired it into the lower right side netting for his first goal of the season. The Crusaders would score in the 72nd minute but it wouldn't be enough to catch the Hounds.

Junior goalkeeper Brian Boland made six saves in the win for the Greyhounds.

Moravian is scheduled to take on Landmark Conference competitor The University of Scranton on Wednesday, October 22 at 4:00 p.m. on HUB Quad, for the Greyhounds fianl home match of the season.
