Boland Earns All-Conference Honors

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior goalkeeper Brian Boland has been selected to the 2014 Landmark All-Conference Men's Soccer Second Team.

Boland, who was the Greyhounds' captain this fall, played in 17 games while starting in 16 for the Greyhounds this season. In 1,594 minutes, he posted 102 saves, a .785 save percentage, four shutouts and 1.58 goals against average. On the conference leader boards, is ranked first for saves, fourth for save percentage and fifth for shutouts.

"I'm extremely happy for Brian and his selection to the All-Confreence team," stated Head Coach Todd Ervin. "His play and leadership this season was remarkable and the recognition is certainly well deserved. Brian will be a senior for us next year and I am expecting him to build on this year's performance and be an outstanding presence for us in net next year."

His 1.64 career goals against average and minutes in a season both hold third in the Moravian College record books while his 3,506 career minutes is fourth. Boland is tied for third in career wins and tied for eighth in season and career shutouts in school history. In 2013, he was selected for the inaugural All-Sportsmanship Team.

The Blue and Grey posted a 3-4-1 Landmark record, heading into the final match with a chance to earn a playoff berth while going 5-8-3 overall this fall.
