Men's Soccer Falls to Elizabethtown

Men's Soccer Falls to Elizabethtown

LANCASTER, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Elizabethtown College in Landmark Conference action Saturday night in a match moved to the Manheim Township Sports Complex due to field conditions on Elizabethtown's natural grass surface.

The Blue Jays took a quick 1-0 lead in the third minute but the Greyhounds looked to counter in the 26th minute when junior midfielder Robert McKinley put a shot on goal that needed to be saved. Freshman forward Connor Wagner nearly sent the teams to the intermission tied but his shot in the 44th minute was saved again.

Elizabethtown added goals in the 57th and 90th minutes in the second half.

Moravian senior goalie Brian Boland made six saves in the contest, and the Greyhounds added one team save with the defense clearing a ball off of the line that had gotten past Boland.

The Blue & Grey are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, October 7 when the Greyhounds will host The United States Merchant Marine Academy on the HUB Quad in a Landmark Conference match beginning at 4:00 p.m.
