Men's Soccer Starts 2016 on the Road on September 1

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team will kick off the 2016 season on the road with a non-conference match versus Cairn University on Thursday, September 1 at 3:30 p.m.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to have their home opener on Wednesday, September 7 versus Immaculata University at 7:30 p.m. The game will take place on the brand new John Makuvek Field that is currently being switched to a synthetic turf field to replace the old HUB Quad grass pitch. Along with the upgrades to the playing surface, the field will also have lights so that the team can play night games throughout the season.

The Blue and Grey will head out for a short road trip starting Wilkes University on Saturday, September 10 and at Centenary College on Wednesday, September 14. The Greyhounds will return home for the Landmark Conference opener versus the University of Scranton on Saturday, September 24 at 7:30 p.m. with the dedication of Makuvek Field before the contest.

The Hounds will head to Hood College on September 28 for a non-conference match before a Landmark Conference contest at Drew University on October 1. Moravian will return back to Makuvek Field on Wednesday, October 5 for a contest versus Elizabethtown College at 7:30 p.m.

The Greyhounds will hit the road for two matches with contests at Goucher College on Saturday, October 8 and rival Muhlenberg College on Wednesday, October 12 before returning home for evening contests with the Catholic University of America on Saturday, October 15 and New Jersey City University on Wednesday, October 19 as both matches start at 7:30 p.m.

Moravian is slated to play its final Landmark Conference road match of the year at Juniata College on Saturday, October 22 before a short trip to DeSales University on Tuesday, October 25. The Greyhounds will wrap the 2016 regular season with a home Landmark Conference contest versus Susquehanna University on Saturday, October 29 at 3:30 p.m.

Moravian will look to continue its improvement in conference play after just missing the postseason a year ago and qualify for the Landmark Conference Tournament. The semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, November 3 with the finals on Saturday, November 6 at the highest remaining seeds home field.
