Durski's Overtime Goal Lifts Greyhounds Past Wilkes

EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team scored twice in the final 23 minutes of regulation to tie the match, and sophomore midfielder David Durski scored in the 98th minute to give the Greyhounds a 3-2 overtime win at Wilkes University in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.

The Colonels scored in the 21st minute for a 1-0 lead, and Wilkes extended the lead to 2-0 just three and a half minutes into the second half.

Moravian, which is 3-0 for the second straight fall, would finally break onto the scoreboard in the 68th minute when junior midfielder Connor Phillips headed in a corner kick by senior midfielder Robert McKinley. Phillips would tie the match in the 75th minute with his third goal of the season.

The Greyhounds would dominate play, finishing with a 23-8 advantage in shots including 3-0 in overtime. Durski scored his first marker of the season in the overtime session with an unassisted goal.

 Junior goalie Bryan Yaskowski made three saves for Moravian, and the Greyhounds also had one team save as the defense cleared a ball off of the goal line.

The Hounds are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, September 14 in a non-conference match at Centenary College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
