Four Moravian Men's Soccer Players Named to Landmark All-Conference Squads

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College men's soccer squad has had four players named to the 2016 Landmark All-Conference Teams with junior midfielder Connor Phillips and sophomore defender Akinori Mollenthiel earning spots on the First Team and senior forward Saul Marcial and junior goalie Bryan Yaskowski on the Second Team.

The Greyhounds are 8-4-4 on the season and earned a berth to the 2016 ECAC Division III Championship Tournament under the direction of Head Coach Todd Ervin. The postseason appearance is the first for the program since the 2003 season and the first trip to the ECAC Tournament since 2002. Moravian is scheduled to face-off against William Paterson University on Saturday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m. in a first round match at Ramapo College.

"Aki, Bryan, Connor, and Saul performed extremely well this season and being named to the Landmark All-Conference teams is an accomplishment that is a direct result of their efforts," commented Ervin. "I am very proud of all of them and will be expecting even more as we finish up our 2016 season and look towards next year."

Phillips is leading the Hounds in scoring this fall with eight goals and four assists for 20 points, and he has netted two game-winning goals while starting all 15 matches he played in. Phillips has 15 goals and eight assists for 38 career points in 33 matches with four game-winning goals.

Mollentheil started in Moravian's defensive backfield in 13 matches this fall and saw action in 14 contests. Over the past two seasons, he has played in 26 matches for the Greyhounds.

Marcial is second on the squad in scoring this season with four goals and two assists for 10 points including one game-winning goal. In his career, Marcial has 13 goals with three game-winners and eight assists for 34 points in 66 career contests including 49 starts heading into the ECAC Tournament.

Yaskowski moved into the starting line-up this year in goal, and he has posted a 1.08 goals-against average heading into the postseason. Yaskowski has made 51 saves and posted four shutouts and a 6-4-4 record in 1,338 minutes this fall. He has a 1.20 career goals-against average with 79 saves in 1,797 minutes over his three seasons in the program.
