BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team will kick off the 2017 season on the road with a pair of matches in the 19th Annual Garnet Alumni Classic hosted by Swarthmore College on September 1-2.
The Greyhounds will begin the season on Friday, September 1 versus Hood College at 5:00 p.m. and then take on Rosemont College on Saturday, September 2 at 4:30 p.m. to finish off the tournament. Moravian will begin its home season on Wednesday, September 6 when the Hounds welcome Centenary University for a 4:00 p.m. match on John Makuvek Field.
Moravian is set to play the first of eight matches under the lights on Saturday, September 9 when Wilkes University comes to Bethlehem for a non-conference contest beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Greyhounds will play three more night contests in a row with a trip to Montclair State University on Wednesday, September 13 before home matches with Berkley (N.Y.) College on Saturday, September 16 and Stockton University on Wednesday, September 20.
The Hounds will begin their 2017 Landmark Conference season on Saturday, September 23 with a trip to The University of Scranton, and the squad closes out September with another Landmark Conference match versus Drew University under the lights of John Makuvek Field on Saturday, September 30.
October is set to start with a Landmark Conference road trip to Elizabethtown College for a 7:00 p.m. start on Wednesday, October 4. Moravian welcomes Goucher College for another conference contest on Saturday, October 7 at 4:00 p.m., and the Greyhounds will host rival Muhlenberg College on Wednesday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m. The Greyhounds will make trips to The Catholic University of America on Saturday, October 14 for a Landmark Conference match and New Jersey City University on Wednesday, October 18 in non-conference action.
Moravian plays its final home Landmark Conference match of the season on Saturday, October 21 when Juniata College comes to John Makuvek Field for a 4:00 p.m. start, and the Greyhounds will host DeSales University on Wednesday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the final home regular season contest. The Hounds close out the season on Saturday, October 28 in a Landmark Conference contest at Susquehanna University.
Moravian, which played in the ECAC Division III Tournament last season, looks to qualify for the Landmark Conference Tournament. The semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday, October 31 with the finals on Saturday, November 4 at the highest remaining seeds home field.
