Klaskin & Phillips Named 2017 Men's Soccer Team Captains

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team has selected seniors Connor Phillips and Corey Klaskin as its captains for the 2017 season.

"We are pleased to announce this year's captains for the Moravian Men's Soccer Team are Corey Klaskin and Connor Phillips," stated Head Coach Todd Ervin, who is starting his eighth season leading the Greyhounds. "The two seniors are phenomenal leaders and will help drive the team to an extremely successful season. I fully expect Corey and Connor to help keep us organized and focused as well as lead us to the conference playoffs and hopefully, the championship."

Phillips, a midfielder, played and started in 16 games last season for the Greyhounds while earning a spot on the Landmark All-Conference First Team. Phillips has 15 goals and eight assists for 38 points in the past two seasons.

Klaskin, who is in his second year as a captain and fourth year as a defender, has started in all 52 games he has played for the Greyhounds and he has recorded three assists.

Moravian is slated to open the 2017 season on Friday, September 1 versus Hood (Md.) College in the 19th Annual Garnet Alumni Classic at Swarthmore College at 5:00 p.m.
