SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team posted its sixth shutout of the season and opened the 2017 Landmark Conference season with a 2-0 victory at The University of Scranton Saturday afternoon.

The Greyhounds, who are now 6-1-1 overall, defeated the Royals for the first time since 2010 by netting a goal in each half. Junior midfielder Brendan Docherty netted his first collegiate tally in the 39th minute when he headed in a pass from junior defender Rocky Fatuova. The Hounds would add an insurance goal in the 73rd minute when freshman midfielder Michael Feeley was in the right place go knock in a loose ball inside the six-yard box for his first collegiate goal.

Senior keeper Bryan Yaskowski made four saves for his fourth shutout of the season, and he also had some help with a teammate clearing a shot in the 17th minute of the contest. Both squads would put five shots on net but the Royals head a 17-8 edge in overall shots and an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, September 30 versus Drew University beginning at 8:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
