Moravian Opens Conference Play with Loss to Catholic

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Moravian University men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to The Catholic University of America to begin the 2021 Landmark Conference schedule on Saturday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds and Cardinals exchanged eight shots between the squads with Moravian taking just one and Catholic attempting seven shots. They would head into halftime in a scoreless draw
  • Catholic would score their first goal in the 51st minute and tack on another in the 88th to end the match

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian attempted six shots in the contest, being outshot by the Cardinals who had 15 shots. The Blue and Grey earned two corner kicks to Catholic's one
  • Sophomore Reed Sturza took the only shot on goal for the Greyhounds which came in the second half.
  • Senior goalie Mason LeSage made his fifth start of the season in net and recorded four saves
