
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer squad has named graduate students goalie Christian Beebe and defender Vito Leone and senior midfielder Kyle Weiss as captains for the 2024 season.
"We are very excited to announce that Christian Beebe, Vito Leone and Kyle Weiss will be our captains for the 2024 season." stated Head Coach Bob Wilkinson. "All three are great representatives of our program both on and off the field. They are great teammates. They go well beyond what we expect of them as far as developing the culture and expectations of the team. They work very hard both academically and athletically. We look forward to working with them this year."
Beebe returns for a fifth season having played 15 matches in goal with seven career starts. He has a 1.39 career goals-against average with 50 saves, a .769 save percentage and a 4-4-3 mark in 970 minutes of action. Beebe recorded one shutout last fall.
Leone has seen action in 40 career matches with 23 starts, and he is a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll. Last spring, Leone was named Moravian's Blue & Grey Senior Scholar-Athlete award winner.
Weiss, who also runs indoor track and competes on the men's lacrosse team at Moravian, will be in his third year as a starter this fall. He has contributed three goals and three assists in 49 career matches on the pitch with 36 starts, and Weiss also has one game-winning goal in his career. He was honored on the 2022 Landmark All-Conference Second Team as a defender and is a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.
Moravian is slated to begin the 2024 season on Friday, August 30 with a non-conference game at Widener University with first touch at 7:00 p.m.
