Getting Ready for Spring Training - February 9, 2016

It’s hard to believe that our spring season is just around the corner.  We start training on March 14th and our play day is set for April 16th where we will travel to DeSales to play on their new turf facility.  We have 25 returners set to practice this spring and it will be great to have a good sized roster to work with.

Speaking of turf fields, plans for our new field are set and construction will begin as soon as graduation is over.  The target finish date is August 10th which means it will be done just in time for preseason.  Night games here we come!

We are also planning on having our Alumni Game on April 9th and I will forward details to all alumni in the coming days.  I’m certainly hoping to see a great turnout!

Getting Ready for Spring - March 4, 2015

Warmer weather is just around the corner and with it comes our spring season.  The boys have been training hard this winter with our strength and conditioning coach and are ready to hit the field in top shape.  Our first session is March 16th and we will finish up on April 18th as we head down to Millersville to play in a multi team tournament.

The Alumni Game is slated for Sunday, April 19th at 2:30 and we are looking to get as many alumni as possible to come out and play.  So bring the family, hope for warm weather and let’s have some fun.  I look forward to seeing everyone at the games in April!

Battling for Postseason Berth - October 25, 2014

With two games left in the regular season, the Moravian Men’s Soccer Team is currently tied for 3rd in the Landmark Conference with 10 points.

This weekend we travel to Hackettstown, New Jersey for our last non-conference match up versus Centenary College. It should be a hotly contested match as Centenary is having a successful season with a 9-5-1 record.

Saturday, November 1st will be our last regular season match against Drew.  We are currently tied with Drew, Scranton and Elizabethtown for 3rd place in the conference so the game should be an absolute battle. The top 4 teams make the postseason tournament and we are hoping for a strong performance from the team as we look for our first Landmark Conference postseason berth. The match will be held at Drew, but a strong supporting crowd will help motivate the team, so come out on Saturday the 1st and support the Greyhounds!

Midseason Update - October 2, 2014

The Moravian Men's Soccer Team is half way through their season and are hopefully hitting their stride as they continue to look to find their first Landmark Conference playoff berth.

Conference play is well underway at this point and we are currently tied for 2nd place with 3 points out of 6. The team played extremely well last weekend as we beat defending champions Catholic University of America 1-0. Although our record on the road is a bit spotty, we remain undefeated at home and we look to continue that streak as we face conference newcomers Elizabethtown on October 4th at 1:00

Happy New Year - January 7, 2014

It’s hard to believe that 2014 is upon us and the Spring Semester is about to begin. We will soon be starting our off season training and in the meantime, the players will be working out with our Strength and Conditioning Coach, Spencer Brown.

This spring will be an exciting time for the team as we continue to build on some of our successes of this past season.  With a strong group of returning players, and an incoming class that is starting to take shape, our hopes are high for the coming year. We are only losing 2 seniors to graduation, but both Justin Dilts and Jeff Algor’s absence will leave holes that need to be filled immediately. I am looking to our returning players to help fill these holes and challenge each other for positions this spring as they begin the process of preparing for our fall 2014 season.
