Cooper Receives Merr Trumbore Men's Tennis Award

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team has presented the Merr Trumbore Men's Tennis Award to rising senior Lewis Cooper for the 2013-14 season.

This award is presented annually to the player on the Men's Tennis Team that has exhibited the most dedication and commitment through-out the season. Merr Trumbore '62 was a former No.1 player for Moravian College. He established this award last year in memory of his wife Lois Ann Trumbore who passed away in the fall of 2012.

Cooper, who is the third Greyhound to receive the plaque, was honored in recognition of his dedication and commitment to the team. There also will be a permanent plaque displayed in the Johnston Hall trophy case with the winners listed on it.

"This is always a tough choice for Coach Neal and I because of the dedication and commitment shown by our entire squad,' stated Head Coach Art Smith. "Lewis is a very worthy recipient."

Moravian will begin its 2014-15 season on Monday, September 8 with a non-conference match at Delaware Valley College at 4:00 p.m. as the Aggies start their first varsity season.
