Wylie Honored as Landmark Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior John Wylie has been honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Wylie helped the Greyhounds open their spring season with a 9-0 victory over Baptist Bible College last Saturday as the squad improved to 3-0 on the year. Wylie teamed with junior Matt Tuorto for an 8-0 win at first doubles, and then Wylie posted a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at second singles.

"John Wylie is a very hard worker," stated Head Coach Art Smith. "John's work ethic helps to set the tone for the team each and every practice and match. John has been a mainstay in our line-up since his freshman year at Moravian. Besides being a talented tennis player, he is a fine young man."

The Greyhounds are schedule to return to action on Sunday, March 8 when the squad opens a four-match trip to Orlando, Florida during spring break. Moravian will take on Wabash (Ind.) College in its opening contest of the week.
