Men's Tennis Sweeps DeSales to Close Fall Season

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team finished off the fall portion of its 2016-17 season with a 9-0 sweep at DeSales University in non-conference action Wednesday.

The Greyhounds, who earned their first win of the season to finish the fall at 1-2 overall, won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead in the match. Sophomores Peter Demyan and Isaac Schefer were the first off the courts with an 8-2 win at second doubles. Senior Giovanni Lombardi and junior David Wilson posted an 8-4 triumph at first doubles while sophomore Austin Grace and freshman Christopher Csencsits earned an 8-3 victory at third doubles.

Lombardi earned the first win in singles action with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at first singles as the Blue and Grey swept all six singles contests in straight sets. Wilson posted a 6-4, 6-1 win at second singles while Schefer had a 6-3, 6-2 victory at third singles. Demyan, Grace and Csencsits all won by 6-0, 6-0 scores at fourth, fifth and sixth singles.

The Greyhounds will begin the spring part of their 2016-17 schedule in early March when the squad heads to Orlando, Florida for its annual Spring Break trip.
