Men's Tennis Falls to Muhlenberg in Non-Conference Action

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team played its first match of the spring season on Hoffman Courts Thursday afternoon as the Greyhounds dropped a 7-2 decision to rival Muhlenberg College in non-conference action.

The Hounds trailed 2-1 after doubles action with the tandem of sophomores Peter Demyan and Isaac Schefer earning an 8-4 win at second doubles to briefly tie the contest at 1-1.

Demyan was the first player off of the courts in singles action with his 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles knotting the score at 2-2; however, the Mules would win the other five singles matches. Senior Giovanni Lombardi forced a third set in his first singles match for the Greyhounds.

Moravian is scheduled to open its 2017 Landmark Conference season on Saturday, April 1 when the squad heads to Drew University for a 1:00 p.m. match.
