Four Former Greyhounds Named to Landmark Conference Men's Tennis All-Decade Team

TOWSON, Md. --- The 2016-17 season marks the 10th year anniversary for the Landmark Conference. To help celebrate, the Landmark is featuring individuals that have stood out over the past 10 years.

Athletes that were named All-Conference First Team a minimum of two times, and/or were named Landmark Player of the Year, during their career were nominated automatically, and each team had the opportunity to nominate additional individuals for consideration. The All-Decade team was selected by the membership and is being announced prior to the conference championship.

Ian Box from the class of 2010, Doug Morrow from the class of 2012, Matt Tuorto from the class of 2016 and John Wylie from the class of 2016 have been named to the Men's Tennis All-Decade Team.

Box was named the Player of the Year in 2008, and was named to the First Team from 2008-2010. He earned Landmark Academic Team and Academic Honor Roll honors from 2008-2010 and was named the Senior Scholar Athlete in 2010. Box posted 30 career wins, including 15 in the Landmark.

Morrow was a three-time First Team Doubles selection for the Greyhounds and was a special selection to the All-Decade Team since he earned First Team All-Conference honors with three different partners. He posted a career record of 39-24 and had a conference record of 19-6.

Tuorto and Wylie were a First Team selection in 2015 and 2016. The duo posted a 34-11 career record and a 13-3 record in the conference. For their careers, Tuorto and Wylie won 56 doubles matches and had 22 wins in the conference.

"In viewing the conference over the last ten years, as a coach I have the utmost respect for any player who receives this recognition," stated Head Coach Alan Heverly. "I was fortunate enough to be an assistant coach when Ian played at Moravian, and to have coached Matt and John as seniors. All are great athletes. The level of play demonstrated by all the conference players named is something for which both Moravian and the Landmark Conference can be exceedingly proud."
