Moravian Blanks Neumann in Weather-Shortened Match

ASTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team won its second straight match to begin the 2018 spring season, defeating host Neumann University, 5-0, Monday in a match shortened due to weather conditions.

The Greyhounds, 3-2 on the year, swept the doubles contests with the tandem of juniors Peter Demyan and Isaac Schefer off of the courts first with an 8-1 victory at first doubles. Senior Mike Palmeri and freshman Sean Kearns recorded an 8-2 win at third doubles while sophomore Christopher Csencsits and freshman Mason Hudnall finished off the doubles action with an 8-3 triumph at second doubles.

The Hounds and the Knights would also play prosets in singles action with weather moving into the area. Schefer earned an 8-1 win at second singles before the match had to be moved inside to complete. Demyan earned the fifth and winning team point with a 9-8 (7-5) victory at first singles.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Thursday, March 22 in a non-conference match at Gwynedd Mercy University beginning at 4:00 p.m.
