ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis team dropped its 2018 Landmark Conference opener Saturday, falling to visiting Elizabethtown College, 7-2, in a match played indoors at Winning Touch Tennis Lehigh Valley due to snow still covering a portion of Hoffman Courts from Wednesday's storm.

The Blue Jays earned the opening point in doubles before the tandem of junior Peter Demyan and freshman Mason Hudnall posted an 8-3 victory at second doubles to knot the score at 1-1. Elizabethtown captured the third doubles match, 8-6, to lead 2-1 heading into singles play.

Demyan won in straight sets at first singles to tie the contest again at 2-2 before the Blue Jays won the final five singles matches to capture the win. Hudnall, junior Isaac Schefer and freshman Sean Kearns all fell in a third set in their singles contests.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Friday, March 30 when the squad hosts Drew University in a Landmark Conference match beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Hoffman Courts.
