GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's tennis squad began the 2021 season with a 9-0 victory at Gwynedd Mercy University on Saturday.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds swept the doubles action with the tandem of sophomores Kieran Pisani and Justin Szaro winning 8-0 at first doubles to begin the season
  • Szaro also had the match clinching point with a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles

First for the Hounds

  • Freshman Steve Schneider played in his first collegiate match, earning an 8-1 win at third doubles with sophomore Andrew Hozza and posting a 6-2, 6-0 victory at fifth singles 

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian 9-0 win was its second straight season opening victory by a sweep
  • The Greyhounds dropped just 14 games and only two in doubles out of 115 on the day between singles and doubles
