BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team topped visiting Immaculata University, 8-1, in non-conference action on Hoffman Courts Saturday afternoon as the Greyhounds began their 2022-23 season.
How It Happened
- The Hounds began the season by sweeping all three doubles contests. The duo of senior Kieran Pisani and freshman Matthew Labosky started the match with an 8-0 win at third doubles while the tandem of sophomores Wyatt Marshall and Ronny Pimentel Ferrer recorded an 8-3 victory at second doubles. Senior Justin Szaro and freshman Shayaan Farhad finished the sweep with an 8-6 triumph at first doubles
- Pisani started singles action with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at fifth singles while Marshall earned a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at third singles to earn the winning team point. Pimentel Ferrer pushed the advantage to 6-0 after posting a 6-0, 6-1 win at fourth singles for the Blue & Grey while Farhad made it 7-1 with a 4-6, 6-3, 11-9 triumph at first singles for his first collegiate singles win. Freshman Ryan Burke finished the match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at sixth singles for his first collegiate win as well
