BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team needed two days to defeat DeSales University at Hoffman Courts due to the weather, and the Greyhounds earned a 6-3 victory to remain undefeated in the 2022-23 season.
How It Happened
- The contest started on Sunday, September 25 but had to be suspended until Friday afternoon due to rain making Hoffman Courts to slippery to continue earlier in the match
- The Greyhounds had a 2-1 lead after the doubles action on Sunday. Senior Andrew Hozza and sophomore Ronny Pimentel Ferrer gave the Hounds a 1-0 lead with an 8-2 victory at third doubles while the tandem of senior Kieran Pisani and freshman Matthew Labosky made it 2-0 with an 8-6 triumph at second doubles
- In the only singles match that completed on Sunday, the Bulldogs earned a win at second singles in addition to the win at first doubles to even the score at 2-2 before the rain began
- On Friday, DeSales won the first match to complete at third singles in a three-set contest to move ahead 3-2. The Hounds answered with four straight victories to capture the match. Pisani evened the team score at 3-3 with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph at fourth singles while freshman Shayaan Farhad put the Blue & Grey in the lead for good with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 win at first singles. Freshman Ryan Burke garnered the winning team point with a 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles while Labosky completed the contest with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph at fifth singles
