READING, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's tennis team earned a 7-2 non-conference victory at Alvernia University Sunday afternoon as the Greyhounds finish the fall portion of their 2022-23 campaign with a 6-0 record.
How It Happened
- The Hounds took a 2-1 lead after the doubles action. Sophomores Wyatt Marshall and Ronny Pimentel Ferrer earned the first point with an 8-4 victory at second doubles while the Golden Wolves won at first doubles to even the contest at 1-1. The tandem of senior Kieran Pisani and freshman Matthew Labosky put the Blue & Grey ahead for good with an 8-1 triumph at third doubles
- Moravian won five of six singles contests to finish the fall undefeated. Pimentel Ferrer was off the courts first with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at fourth singles while Marshall made it 4-1 with a 6-3, 6-1 win at third singles. Alvernia cut the match to 4-2 by taking the second singles contest before freshman Shayaan Farhad earned the winning team point with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) triumph at first singles. Senior Andrew Hozza recorded a 6-0, 6-0 victory at six singles while Pisani completed the match with a 6-0, 6-3 win at fifth singles
