Bill Neal enters his fourth season with the Moravian College coaching staff in 2014-15.

Neal is a 2005 graduate of DeSales University, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. Neal had a stellar playing career as a Bulldog playing at the #1 and #2 singles and doubles positions throughout his four years at DSU. He was named to the All-Freedom Conference Second Team twice and to the All-Freedom Conference First Team once (2005). He was a three-time MASCAC Spring All-Academic team member and was named the 2003 Men’s Tennis MVP.

Neal spent four years (2005-2009) coaching the men's and women's tennis programs at DeSales. During his four year stint at DeSales, Neal coached two MASCAC Freedom Conference Players of the Year, three MASCAC Singles Champions, six All-Freedom Conference team members, and one MASCAC Freedom Conference Rookie of the Year. His women's team made three consecutive Freedom Conference Playoff appearances from 2006-2009. As an assistant in 2005, he helped coach the DeSales women’s team to its first ever Freedom Conference Championship.

Neal also has a wealth of tennis experience outside of collegiate coaching. As a junior player, he competed in numerous Middle States Tournaments and in 2000 he ranked among the top five in Boys' 18 Singles in Eastern, PA. In 2001, he obtained the #1 ranking in Boys’ 18 Singles in Eastern Pennsylvania. He graduated from Marian Catholic High School in 2001 and was the first player in the history of Marian to compete in the District XI Tennis Championships where he advanced to the Round of 16.

Neal is a USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) Professional 2 and a USPTR (United States Professional Tennis Registry) Certified Professional. He is also a member of the USTA (United States Tennis Association). In 2007, Neal was named the USPTA/Middle States Division College Coach of the Year. Over the past ten years, he has taught at many tennis clubs and academies, including the Van Der Meer Tennis Academy and the Ed Krass College Tennis Academy. Neal also directed several tennis camps and recreational coaches workshops that were hosted at DeSales. For the past three summers, he has served as a coach for Tennis:Europe, taking high school players overseas to compete in tournaments all throughout Europe.

He is currently employed in the Northampton School District and completed his Master’s Degree in Education at Moravian College in 2014 serving as the graduate speaker at commencement.
