Farrell Sets School Mark in 3K at Jack Pyrah Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. --- Senior Dillon Farrell set a school record on the opening day of the season as he competed at the Jack Pyrah Invitational hosted by Villanova University at Haverford College's Alumni Field House Saturday.

Farrell was third in the 3,000-meter run with an ECAC qualifying time of 8:44.22 to take two seconds off of the school mark set by Tim Pfluger back in 2000 at Bucknell University. Farrell's time is also the third-best in Landmark Conference history.

Freshman Mike Kopach won his heat of the 800-meter run at the meet, finishing seventh overall in 2:06.43.

The Greyhounds will now take nearly six weeks off before competing again at the Collegeville Classic hosted by Ursinus College on Friday, January 23, 2015.
