Greyhounds Return to Action at Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's track and field team traveled to Ursinus College to take part in the Collegeville Classic Friday night, placing 17th as a team for their first competition of 2015.

Junior Ryan Karnopp cleared an ECAC qualifying mark of 4.80m (15 feet, 9 in) for a second place finish in the pole vault. Junior Ryan Sickler placed 12th in the high jump clearing 1.75m (5 feet, 8 ¾ in). Sophomore Kyle Hagerty leaped 5.75m (18 feet, 10 in) for a 13th place finish in the long jump.

Freshman Eric Morton took fifth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.23 seconds while junior Gavin Bailey finished ninth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.39 seconds. Freshman Jack Lippin took eighth in the shot put with a toss of 13.39m (43 feet, 11 ¼ in) while sophomore Matt Jones placed 12th with a throw of 12.71m (41 feet, 8 ½ in). Sophomores Ljuboslav Boskic  and Greg Cahill finished 18th and 19th respectively with tosses of 12.52m (41 feet, one in) and 12.24m (40 feet, two in) in the shot put.

Friday evening was the first competition for the Greyhounds since December 6, and just half of the team competed. The rest of Moravian's squad is set to return to action on Saturday, January 24 at the Princeton University Tiger Open beginning at 11:00 a.m.
