Men Compete at Swarthmore Final Qualifier

SWARTHMORE, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's track & field squad participated in the non-scoring Swarthmore College Final Qualifier Monday evening in the Greyhounds' last chance to qualify student-athletes for the 2015 ECAC Division III Championships.

Sophomore Kahron Walker led the Hounds as he tied for fourth in the high jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 1.93 meters (6-4). Sophomore Michael Guarino placed seventh in the javelin with a mark of 50.31 meters (165-1) while sophomore Greg Cahill took ninth in the hammer throw at Widener with a toss of 43.16 meters (141-8). Cahill also placed 14th in the shot put with a toss of 12.66 meters (41-6.5) while freshman Robert Condo placed 12th in the javelin with a distance of 47.41 meters (155-6).

Junior Tyler Dwyer was 12th in the 400-meter dash in 50.91 seconds, just 0.81 shy of the ECAC qualifying standard while sophomore Austin Gardener  had a time of 23.62 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Freshman Austin Stetler turned in a time of 1:56.50 in the 800-meter run.

Moravian is slated to return to action at the 2015 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships being hosted Springfield (Mass.) College on May 14-15 as the final chance to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships.
